Swine flu. Pandemics. Flu season. All these have been the scare in the news that has got people like me paranoid about germs.

Rinse them Clean!
I don’t like getting sick
I don’t think anyone likes getting sick (other than maybe the occasional sick day off to squeeze an extra day off from work). So to avoid getting sick I usually make sure after going out I don’t use my hands to touch my eyes, ears or nose because that is where the germs can infect you easiest.
Be courteous
And when I am sick I make sure I cover my mouth and try to sneeze into my shoulder/arm area so that my hands don’t get dirty. I also try to stay home and sleep more to both recover faster and not infect other people.
So what about those old songs?
If you’ve read thus far you may be wondering about what “Happy Birthday” or “Old McDonald’s” has to do with anything I’m talking about here. Well, it’s just pretty much the song I hum to myself when I wash my hands. Because according to the Center for Disease Control, washing your hands with soap is only half of getting them clean because you also need to RINSE for at least 20 seconds to get most of the germs off your hands.
Save lives!
So I try to save my life and many others by keeping my hands clean when I wash them rinse for a “Happy Birthday” song. But if you prefer you can also sing “Old McDonald’s” to do the trick too!
(So spread the word, help save lives by making sure everyone cleans their hands right. Use the buttons below to Twitter this or submit to your favorite social bookmarking site! Thanks! Leave a comment, I’d like to hear from you too!)
