25 Things about Visiondecor

by futonL on February 6, 2009

So, I was reading a hilarious article on Time.com about the 25 things that the author didn’t want to know about her friends,  so I thought it would be really funny to do 25 random things about Visiondecor!

25 Things…

Briefly, “25 Random Things about ….” started on Facebook and pretty much once you are tagged to the note, you must do the following:

“Once you’ve been tagged you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you.

To do this, go to “notes” under the tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.”

Okay here are 25 Things About Visiondecor:

  20. Our employees work really hard trying to accommodate all of our customer’s requests, despite what is said on the negative feedback.

  • The Explainer: Lunar New Year

by futonL on January 26, 2009

For the next week we will be celebrating the Lunar New Year (aka Chinese New Year) which is an important holiday for most East Asian countries.

Here are some quick facts about the Lunar New Year that you might not have known:

Red:  Red is considered a good luck color and it is also believed to scare off the “evil spirits” that would plague the local crops, and detour good fortune.

888: Much like 777 is lucky in Las Vegas, Nevada, 888 is considered lucky (not just during Lunar New Year) because in in Chinese the word for the number “8″ closely sounds like the word for “luck”, which is “fat” or “bat” (pronounced like ‘b-ah-t”).  Additionally, the word for the “hundred” also sounds like the the word for “luck”.  So, “eight-hundred-eighty-eight” sounds like “ba-bai-ba-shi-ba”, which is very lucky.

Year of the Ox (from wiki): “The Ox is the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. This powerful sign is a born leader, being quite dependable and possessing an innate ability to achieve great things. As one might guess, such people are dependable, calm, and modest. Like their animal namesake, the Ox is unswervingly patient, tireless in their work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship without complaint.”

Visiondecor is celebrating the Lunar New Year from January 29 until February 2, 2009 with a $8.88 shipping on all items promotion!  Check out our Lunar New Year Promotion going on now.  No coupon is necessary, we will just simply set all shipping prices to $8.88.  (Free shipping items will remain free shipping).  If you order any one item, the cost for shipping will be $8.88, two items will be $17.76, and three items will be $26.64, etc.  Please note that items that cost less than $8.88 to ship, will retain their shipping costs.

There is a lot more to learn about the Lunar New Year that is filled with tradition.  Although many people around the world celebrate the Lunar New Year, not every detail is shared by one another.
