I’ve heard the saying that “ignorance is bliss.” But what would make a table lamp that is modern style be labeled as “bliss”? (Ok, be forewarned that this post is just my random thinking on a random topic of why this item is called the way it is. Just don’t want you to waste time on useless trivia, but if that is what you like, read on…)
Customers look for this
It’s not just only my supplier that calls this lamp the bliss modern table lamp, but the fact that my customers call it that too! Take a look, what is so bliss about this lamp?

what's bliss in a lamp?
Bliss defined
As defined by wikipedia, bliss can be a state of profound spiritual satisfaction, happiness or joy, often associated with religious ideas of the afterlife. Not the definition where I can remotely link any concept to why this lamp is called bliss. So I kept on reading the wiki article to possibly find some linkage. (Well, at this point you shouldn’t keep on reading if you don’t want to waste time. But keep reading if you don’t mind spending another minute to find out some useless trivia
) Could it be one of the people on this list with the last name bliss? Nope.
It’s a place.
Ok, after reading on toward the geography section, I made the connection. Bliss is ghost town at the heart of northern California in Yuba Country. But you may ask what this has anything to do with the lamp?
Just a guess
Well, let me take a stab at it. I know for a fact that some of my vendors don’t have much creativity when naming products. And after seeing where the word Bliss came from I started picking up on the fact that other vendors also name their products after city names and places. Like Manhattan sofa or Hermosa Chair, haha. So I figured it was just named after the place and that customer’s saw this product elsewhere and used the same name to ask about it.
Useless trivia
Anyways, I wrote this post just to question why certain products are named the way they are and a bliss modern table lamp is up there on my list of confusing product names. Thanks for reading my ramblings and I apologize if I’ve wasted your time on this useless trivia. But I know some of you like some random trivia but I hope to learn from this and possibly come up with better product names and be original about it. Thanks for reading!

When it rains or when it’s cold, many of us start realizing we need somewhere to hang our coats, jackets etc. when it’s a little too late. I’m suggesting that you plan ahead and decorate your entryways with one of these coat racks anytime throughout the year. Besides there’s many other uses for a coat rack than you think.

you can hang your hat, clothes...
Why do I need a coat rack?
I know it’s getting toward the summer and I’m probably crazy suggesting that any of you may need a coat rack. But seriously, I’ve noticed that it’s used all year round. Not just when it rains or when it gets cold and you need to hang those rain coats and jackets somewhere. One non-functional thing is that the coat rack serves a nice decor piece in your entryways, rooms or wherever you put them.
More functional uses
When it’s in a room you can use it to hang your “in-between” clothes. Like jeans I wore once and I know I can wear again, I hang it on the coat rack. For all you girls out there, you can use it to hang your hand-bag collection, scarves and accessories. I hang my belts, some extra ties and a few shirts. Before going out and you’re picking out what you’re going to wear, a coat rack serves a really good purpose for you to hang your outfit to see how the top and bottom will look.
Space saver
These coat racks work like vertical storage too. When your guests come over they can hang their “stuff” on it, like bags, sweaters and shirts. It’s better than piling it on the living room sofa or somewhere in the house which ends up cluttering your space. And when it’s in your room (or maybe your teenagers room) it can help to hang up all the “in-between” clothes rather than just have it start accumulating n piles all over the room on the floor / chairs, etc.
So decorate, save space and pre-empt the need for some coat racks!

Going a little modern style crazy here. Last time I showcased a havana leather sofa set which I was attempting to figure into urban decor style. Today I’m really excited to move a little toward the modern side here with these modern bar stools because it’s been a “cameo” for Visiondecor that most of you don’t know:

Do you recognize anything?
The ‘r’ in Visiondecor
A lot of barstools from us look really good, but there’s something special about these modern barstools. Take a closer look and you’ll notice it’s the bar stool shape that we used in our Visiondecor logo. I guess that’s something that only someone like me would care but also want to share with you because it’s a little trivia and product knowledge tidbit.
My preference in style
Aside from this item looking like the ‘r’ in our logo, these are barstools that fit my taste too. Sleek and modern. They look really cool when lined up alongside the edge of a bar or kitchen islande. And some of you may think they have no back support, but I say it’s better for your back because it forces you to sit upstraight. Besides most people sitting at the bar or kitchen island area are usually forward for the conversation, smelling the food and checking out what the chef-of-the-house (yes, that’s you!
haha) is doing.

I’m embarassed to admit that I think most of our products are a little boring. I mean, not that I don’t think our products are good or useful, it just takes a lot for me to get excited about a product. And when you really ask, how exciting can a sofa be?
A new product that caught my eye!
Well, when I saw our current newsletter sent out by my sales manager to our exclusive email list customers, my eye was totally caught by a new product added by my buyer and her team. It was this wall clock. I don’t know if this is modern or rustic style. But it looks intriguing. Sorry if I seem out of it. I’ve been traveling much and working on a project to bring more products to our customers that I’ve been a little behind on what’s new. But this is something I liked!

Gears on the Walls to tell Time
Dull walls need thingys to hang on them.
This is a great product that works to decorate your walls and also it tells the time too. You don’t have to get something to hang on your wall and clutter it up with a clock when you can do both with one item! But enough with the product promotion, I just think this looks cool and I’m happy to be selling it on our site.
More wall decor for modern to traditional interiors.
Well, this may be something for Father’s day (possibly even Mother’s Day) but there are other new wall decor products we just added to our growing selection. I always wondered what lightens up a room and it was never the floor lamp that I thought could solve the problem. “Wall sculptures” as my product team likes to call it serves that purpose:

Almost like a picasso, but not really.

It's almost hypnotizing...

Go go go! Turtles
So what do you think? Check out all the wall stuff we just added and let me know your thoughts/favs! Leave a comment.
