interior lighting ideas

I always like sitting and enjoying the brighter parts of the room.  But have you ever walked into a bright room only to feel really uncomfortable with the pale flourescent lighting?  I usually like a room with warmer lighting where people’s complexions are more natural.

The Lighting difference
Well, I think lighting makes a last leg difference to the feeling of an interior.  I’ve scoured the internet a bit to find some good interior lighting inspirations for different parts of the home.

Here’s a nice well lit kitchen.  With pendant lamps above the island area and recessed lighting installed.  Love how the pendants nicely match into the style of the cabinets.  (~via Loghome.com, link)

A modern contemporary decor nicely accented by a table lamp on the side table and staggered pendant lamps alongside track lighting. (~Kabmurungraya.net, link)

I see how the living room and the dining area has not real dividing wall or section, but it’s amazing how the modern center piece hanging ceiling lamp calls attention and virtually defines the dining area separate from the living room. (~via Furniturestoreblog.com, link)

Here’s some good bathroom lighting inspirations from kitchenbathideas.com, link.  I notice the elegant use of wall sconce lamps, natural lighting, a classic chandelier and mirrors.

A contemporary table lamp used on a side table sleekly matches the modern decor. (~via kabmurungraya.net, link)

The traditional dining room setting is nicely accented by the neo-classic style chandelier. (~via javabali.info, link)

I like this one with the welcoming natural lighting and the 2 centerpiece modern hanging lamps.  I think that is made of fabric, but in any case… stunning.  (~Ericrothphoto.com, link)

And last but not least, how can you forget entryway lighting?  This one is by Ashley Whittaker design, link.  I like how there is a neo-traditional touch in using 2 slender table lamps on the console table to match classical patterns on the chair and the ceramic stools beneath.

I’ve also noticed the most welcoming settings to me are the ones with natural lighting, plenty of windows and a green setting in the background.  So I figure a nice challenge to choosing the right lighting involves a lighting decor piece that does not take away from the natural lighting during the day but creates a functional and stylish addition during the night.
