Product Review – Winsome Wood Furniture Coffee Tables and Side Tables

One of the best furniture bargains there is, Winsome Wood crafts some seriously well-made furniture for outrageously low prices.  Take these pieces for example:At right, you see the Contemporary Black Finish Solid Wood End Table, priced at only $177.44.  This is an amazingly low price for solid beechwood furniture, and that’s a signature of Winsome Wood.  The design is a simple and elegant “classic contemporary”, while only the best materials were used in crafting. Below, you’ll see the Classic Walnut Finish Coffee Table with Drawers, another great example of Winsome Wood’s exceptional quality furniture.  The construction is beech wood, and very sturdy.  This piece features functional drawers with a traditional style theme.  The Walnut Finish Coffee Table is priced at $205.25.

Restaurant Furniture vs Home Furniture: What’s the Difference?

We all know that restaurant furniture feels different than home furniture.  It’s usually heavier and feels sturdier.  The single, most important aspect of restaurant furniture is that it is built very strong, for extended commercial use.  If you were to bring a dining chair from home and use it in a restaurant, you’d be lucky if it doesn’t fall apart within a month.  Restaurant-grade furniture is designed to last much longer, and as such, it has a heavier build and simplistic construction.A lot of restaurant furniture is ANSI/BIFMA certified, which is a certification signed by the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association.  The ANSI/BIFMA Safety and Performance Standards are developed by the BIFMA Engineering Committee. The standards are reviewed every five years according to guidelines established by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The standards are intended to provide manufacturers, specifiers, and users with a common basis for evaluating safety, durability, and the structural adequacy of the specified furniture, independent of construction materials. The standards define specific tests, laboratory equipment to be used, the conditions of test, and the minimum acceptance levels to be used in evaluating these products. Restaurants-grade furniture manufacturers are constantly finding new and improved methods of creating stronger, simpler, and more stylish barstools, dining tables, dining chairs, etc.  Simplicity is key, as the fewer locking joints and moving parts, the less likely something will break.  One of my favorite designs is actually the acrylic chair that you can find in yogurt and ice cream parlors, such as the chair shown above.  With no joints, this light-weight, affordable chair will last a lifetime, even through hard use at a restaurant.

Decorating is a fun but challenging part of home design.  When it comes to planning or implementing your design you should consider paying attention of the skills needed to ensure that no problems arise.

As with most skills, paying attention to detail is a skill that takes a lifetime to learn.  Sure, if you simply pay attention to the fine details of a particular task you are one step ahead in reducing the amount of work needed when you are through to the task.  However, attention your to detail shouldn’t stop there, be ‘consistent’ throughout the entire process will dramatically improve the quality of you work.

This scenario might seem familiar; you’ve carefully chose the right color and the absolute best layout for your new bedroom.  Even if your budget and the scheduling made the work seem a lot more than it should have, stay the course!  Your hard work will pay off.

Tip: 1) Pay attention to detail, 2) Follow through with the task at hand.
