Here’s some eco-inspiring home designs for you. Some seem to be straight out of The Lord of the Rings as a home of a Hobbit and some are egg-shell like from the Jetsons. I found these browsing Avi Abrams’ website at Dark Roasted Blend on Environmentally Friendly Houses, it was a great article that inspired this post. (@DRBlend, thanks for the support and inspiring ideas!)
The Woodland House – believe it or not it only took 1000 to 1500 man hours and $3000 pounds (around $6000 USD?) to build this house, by Simon Dale.:



The Treehouse - kinda scary looking, owned by the daughter of the ex-President of Vietnam:


The Bubble House - designed by Antti Lovag in the Cannes:

The Spirit-Sphere House - looks like something from Twenty Thousands Leagues Under the Sea but in a tree:



My favorite and most exciting, I call this one the Cliff Hanger
