Continuing on my adventure of exploring interior designs, particularly the contemporary style, I found some interiors by Axis Mundi that were quite inspiring and showed quite well how history and contemporary styles can coexist.
Contemporary Mixed with History
The projects display a good example of preserving historical elements (like the 1920’s Neo-Georgian townhouse or a Greek Revival 1840’s townhouse) and nicely blending them in with contemporary interior styles.
Greek Revival Townhouse Project - a New York, Greenwhich townhouse landmark built in the 1840s.
Downtown Duplex in New York - in a 1960s white brick building, very elegant and clean.
“Shingle House” in Long Island by John Beckmann of Axis Mundi
I was just about to end this post but then looked at the following images from their shingle house project and had to post them up too.
You can see more at the Axis Mundi design site.
