Continuing on my adventure of exploring interior designs, particularly the contemporary style, I found some interiors by Axis Mundi that were quite inspiring and showed quite well how history and contemporary styles can coexist.
Contemporary Mixed with History
The projects display a good example of preserving historical elements (like the 1920’s Neo-Georgian townhouse or a Greek Revival 1840’s townhouse) and nicely blending them in with contemporary interior styles.

This is a nice kitchen.. I like the parallel pantry and island area.
Hardwood floors are beginning to appeal to me from the contemporary style.

I was just about to end this post but then looked at the following images from their shingle house project and had to post them up too.
The softer plush couches brings more warmth to the contemporary look.
I love the hanging candle platform.
