Willard Wigan is not your average sculptor. Or better way to put it, he does not make average sized sculptures. I recently came across an article from ABC News article about his small sized scupltures that fit on a pin head. Amazing!

I’ve seen something similar of an ancient Chinese of etching poems on grains of rice. But the most intriguing thing to me more than the micro size of the sculptures is the fact that Wigan uses hairs plucked from a housefly’s back to paint them. Wow!

You can see more at Wigan’s website of small sculptures. If you want to own one of these I know some auctioned for about $300,000 USD. But I like the fact that Wigan said he’s not doing it for the money, he just does it because he can and loves what he’s doing.
