I was taking the elevator to my hotel room the other day, and a guy walks in from the 2nd floor lobby to take it up.

Be Courteous
I’m in the elevator with a 2 other people and my fiance. So nothing out of the ordinary. Yet…
Please turn around.
The guy walks in and doesn’t turn around, he looks straight toward the back of the elevator at me and my fiance. The guy looked normal, but it just got awkward for about 10 floors going up with a guy cramped up with you in an elevator and staring at you so close.
This just got me thinking that there are unspoken rules in being polite to others when taking the elevator.
Be Courteous
1. Before getting on, let the people inside get off first.
2. When you’re closest to the buttons, ask if anyone needs a specific floor, b/c they may not be able to reach it.
3. Hold the door open for people running toward the elevator or exiting it if the need more time getting out.
4. Turn around and look in the same direction as everyone else: toward the doors.
5. Don’t have rude/loud conversations with others in such a closed space, you can’t wait the few minutes.
