Start Boiling Water on Monday to Make Tea on Sunday

by ericl on April 3, 2009

It doesn’t make sense to keep water on the stove for a week, keeping it warm on a low simmer, and then boiling it back up at the end of the week to make a cup of tea right?  Ok, that may be an extreme example, but many of us do the same thing with the huge water heater tank at home.  Water heaters with a tank keep warming and boiling at a certain temperature until you use it.  That just wastes a log of energy to keep your water hot all the time when you use it only a few times throughout the day.

Hot Water When You Need It
It just makes more sense to boil the water when you need it.  Like you would put a pot of water on the stove to boil just a few minutes before you would like to enjoy your cup of hot tea.  Ok, I’m not saying that you have to literally boil water minutes ahead of time before you take a hot shower.  What I’m saying is that if you haven’t already, you should consider installing a tank-less water heater.

Instant Hot Water
It heats up water in high pressure and temperatures when you need it, fast!  So whenver you need to use hot water it immediately powers up and heats up the water for you through a series of small pressurized tubes instantly.  It is delivered instantly when you need it all the time.  You can use it for showers or even the need for instant boiling hot water.

Save Energy, Save Money $$$
This way you don’t have to keep your water in a tank and keep boiling it all the time to keep it hot when you need to use it.  Now hot water can be on demand.  And the best thing about it is you can save more in energy costs than it costs you to install a tank-less water heater.

So act now to save some money and save energy that need not be wasted to keep your water hot all the time when you only need hot when when you want to use it.  Read up on tankless water heating at wikipedia, and google tankless water heater for plenty of sources to buy and research.
