Life’s Simple Pleasures in a Grilled Cheese Sandwich

I love grilled cheese sandwiches. It’s great for lunch or a weekend afternoon snack. I start with two slices of soft white bread and I butter all the sides. Then I fire up the stove and pan to toast one side of the bread.

Nothing beats cheese, butter, and bread.

Butter and Cheese
As the butter melts into the bread creating a buttery aroma in the air, I lift up the bread ever so slightly to see if the cooked side is golden brown. Once it is golden brown I flip both slices of bread over.

Sizzle Sizzle
And then I put on the cheese (American or a slice of cheddar) and fold over the open slice on top. I wait and smell the melting cheese and butter as the sandwich sizzles over medium heat.

Once the bottom side is golden brown I flip the sandwich over and prepare a plate to put it on. So in about 5 minutes I have a tasty grilled cheese sandwich.

-Grilled Kalua Pork and Cheese (Hawaiian Style)-
-Grilled American Cheese (Still my personal fav to make and eat!)

It may seem like a lot of steps but it really is something that is easy to make and tasty to eat. Oh, did I also mention my fiance loves grilled cheese too? I love seeing the smile on her face as she indulges in one of my homemade grilled cheese sandwiches. Just my point in how the simple things in life bring some of the greatest pleasures.
