Three days before a trip, I start thinking about what I need so I can pack for the trip.

Honey, did I forget something?
Day T minus 3.
I wake up and I take a mental note of what I use in the morning. Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, contact lense stuff. I come home after work at night and eat dinner. Then I make another mental note of the things I use before bed time. Soap, shampoo, lotion. I just start putting the stuff aside in a corner so I can just pack it all up when I’m ready to pack them. Oh, almost forgot, deodorant.
Day T minus 2.
Then I start thinking about how many repeat items I need. Like underwear and socks. So I count how many nights I will be going and add 2 (never too much because I never know when I may want an extra shower here and there). Then maybe if I want to have a formal dinner, I would bring one or two sets of nice clothes. Don’t forget the shoes to go with it, haha, you would not want to be stuck wearing white tennis shoes with an evening dress or dress pants.
Day T minus 1.
Any other things? What about medications? Going out of the country I make sure I have all my papers (but you should have done passport apps months before), and maybe a will (just in case – haha, I leave my dog to my brother). And I like to print out basic directions from the airport to the hotel and some hot spots in town. Well, I did forget on my last trip to Maui, but luckily I used Stella’s iPhone to google map direction it, which I thought I was so smart to remember to use
.
Day T.
Ok, pack it up and I make sure I have my e-ticket info. Oh well, if I forgot something by now I probably won’t remember. I just hope I’ll be able to by it at the stores when I get there. Have fun vacationing!
