California just signed in a new driving law. I saw it all over the freeways on the freeway message signs saying:

This should be common sense!
Don’t Text and Drive, It’s the law!
Typo?
For a second when saw that on the digitized screens I thought it was a typo. Text and Drive? I thought it was drink and drive.
Banned!
But it is true. Texting while driving is banned as of 2009 in California. Come on, really?!? We need a law to keep people from doing that? It should be common sense!
I just got my first blackberry (Bold 9000) last week. And it is impossible to text and drive at the same time. Your eyes and hands are tied up trying to respond “LOL” to your friend on AIM. How can you even possibly drive. (”Yes, I’m guilty of trying. But I will never do it again!” :-p)
Common Sense, Not Law!
I have to admit that it is tempting to keep connected all the time and text constantly. But I think it should be common sense when your safety is impaired, and not need be told by a law.
People need have more Common Sense
When Obama and our people voted for Change, it should not come from laws that baby-sit us but the fact that our people and government should exercise more common sense! It’s getting to be stupid that we need our law makers to enact laws where people should be exercising more common sense.
