Okay, so summer is almost over and you have to start thinking about your next quarter in college. But I am sure that most college students don’t put any thought into the type of furniture they should be buying for the up coming year.

Here are a few tips from a survey of my college grads friends that will for sure save you time and money:
- Do not spilt the cost of furniture unless you plan on throwing it away in the end. From our experience, when someone owns a couch or using someone’s couch students tend to keep the quality of the items better than sharing the expense. Just make sure you split the cost of the inventoried items and you will have a better chance of keeping your deadbeat friends.
- Multifunctional furniture. Buy furniture with built in bookshelves or storage areas. I bet you don’t have much room as it is to play your Wii Fit so you might as well buy furniture that incorporates some storage options.
- Plan a little on what you need and just wing the rest of it. You will need a bed, desk, a few chairs, and storage space. the less you have the more room you will have and the less you will have to get rid of when it comes to moving out.
- Ladies, I know you have a bunch of guy friends who wouldn’t mind helping you move in or out of your apartment, but please, give a guy a break and don’t buy the heaviest and fanciest dresser. Something that is functional and sturdy will do. Remember, simple is more!
Good luck with the new school year and remember to rehydrate after you dehydrate yourselves.

That’s a cool loft! Where did it come from?
This loft is a full size bed and workstation. Here is the link: http://shop.visiondecor.com/new-black-finish-metal-full-size-loft-bed-workstation-460092.html
Wow. Now I call that a real “bed riser”! But for the rest of the world, they may find this more practical.
I just sent a niece off to college (Toledo University) and we used these bed frame risers to give her more under bed storage. http://www.rangekleen.com/underbed-storage-bed-lifters.php
I know there are a lot of different brands around but you can easily find these at Target, Wal-Mart, or other big box stores, in case your roommates want some also.
