I recently updated my iPhone to version 2.0 and I must say it is a great improvement to my first generation iPhone. Not only does it fix some of the annoying problems with my iPhone but it dramatically improves the functionality of my iPhone with the addition to new software.
The unoffical release of the iPhone software (as stated on Macrumors) has been leaked and some iPhone users are taking the plunge into the new features after about a 1 hour installation.
There were a few glitches that didn’t really make me feel great about the new software, I had to restart my phone and my computer once to make sure everything was installed correctly, but all in all it seems like a worth while upgrade.
Here are 5 reasons why you should upgrade your first generation iPhone:
- Deleting emails: Okay this was just annoying to me how you needed to delete things one by one, now you can Edit, then choose all the emails to be deleted, then Delete All. Simple
- Applications: AIM, Google, Facebook, Yelp, Whrrl (that’s five reasons already!)
- You won’t even notice it’s not the second generation iPhone it looks and feels the same.
- Save $10 a month! Sure, 3G is faster, but you save $10 a month ($120 a year, and $240 for your new contract)
- Wait for the next iPhone with an upgraded camera, removeable battery, more applications
All in all you should be happy with the free iPhone 2.0 upgrade to your first gen. It should make you look at your phone a lot more often now.
