Chaise – A Chair for your Legs?
The word Chaise (pronounced something like “shays”) is actually comes from a word for chair in French. Since it is just a chair, then why is it called a chaise?
Well, since it is from a French based word, it must be more elegant or does something more than you think a normal chair would.
Take a look a a very typical product that represents it, and you can see that it is a cross between a chair and a daybed for the person sitting on it to lounge around. Most of them are decorated with fancier legs and button head nail accents. And of course there are many simpler styled ones that can fit contemporary styled decor.
But overall, it goes great in the corner of any living room or a lounge area in your home. Great for casual sitting, resting, and or taking a quick nap.
So next time your guests come over, you can sport to them “Have a seat on my new ’shays’…” You can find many lounge chairs for your comfort in a variety of styles online and in many local furniture stores. Good prices range between $100 for very simple metal frames to $700 for more elegant chaise chairs.
