Have you’ve been sitting in your wood dining chair or at your wood dining table and noticed that it is wobbling? The hinges are becoming loose? Well, here’s a quick tip on how to keep your wood furniture in place from the start so that it is solid and sturdy for a lifetime.
Quick Tip: When you get your wood furniture and if you are putting it together yourself, tighten the screws for each part to just right. After a week of use and the screws and hinges are settling in then tighten it another 1/4. Then be sure to revisit your screws and hinges once a year or so and tighten them as needed, because if you continue to use your piece of furniture in a wobbly state, the screw holes and ridges may wear off making the situation worse.
Why? This will ensure that you do not crack the wood when putting it together as the wood is fresh from the manufacturer. After some use and in the environment that you have been using it in, the humidity or dryness kicks in, and when you tighten it in the environment it has been in after a week or so, then it tightens right.
This will ensure your wood furniture will be strong for a lifetime.
