Crepe Recipe – Simple Sophisticated Cooking in the Kitchen

by ericl on February 10, 2008

For some many people the kitchen is their work room, and for everyone else they are intimidated by cooking.  But I love to cook, and I am so happy with the time I spend in the kitchen, making good food and see the look of “tastes so good” on their faces.

I wanted to introduce to our readers a simple Crepe recipe that will make you look like a pro in the kitchen!

Here’s how to make basic crepes:

-Ingredients
All Purpose Flour – 1 Cup
Eggs – 2 Large
Milk – 1/2 Cup
Water – 1/2 Cup
Salt – 1/4 Teaspoon

-Instructions
1.  Whisk together the flour and eggs while gradually adding in the milk and water.
2.  Then add the salt and butter, beat until the mixture is smooth (almost like pancake batter but lighter)
3.  Heat up a flat bottom griddle in medium heat with light oil
4.  Pour a scoop of the batter onto the pan and cook for about 2 minutes
5.  Use a spatula and flip it o cook the other side

Now you can fill your crepes with whatever ingredients you want.  For a nice dessert, all you need is some whipped cream, banana’s, and some Nutella or chocolate syrup, and to make it look prettier, sprinkle some powdered sugar on top.  Now I like savory crepes with salty ingredients:  Sautee some sliced deli ham and put it on the crepes, add some swiss cheese and basil, salt and pepper to taste, fold it in and you’ve got a great tasting savory crepe.  So impress your friends and family with some beautiful and tasty crepes while you come out of the kitchen looking like a pro!
