Thinking of getting that new sofa or replacement one? Well, I’m sure you’ve seen all the tips on sitting on it before you buy, ensuring the quality, checking the warranty. Well, a sofa is going to be one of your main investments in the furniture of your own home so here are my Three C’s in making sure your upgrade the value of your purchase:
Cushions – the number of cushions or cracks will determine how many people can sit on your sofa comfortably. I don’t enjoy sitting on the crack and starting to sink into the sofa, so think about it. There are alternatives in getting oversized cushion sofas that can sit more on each section, but mostly for people that don’t mind sitting more in a cozy position.
Comfort – what are you going to use it for? Relaxing and sitting like you have no back makes it so that you may need something with a footstool or lounge area for leaning back and putting your feet up. And like a bed, you should pay attention to the firmness of the cushions, backs, and the material should stay resilient. Usually foam and double tied spring bottoms last for years and it will ensure you get consistent comfort throughout the life of your sofas.
Covers – bored of that color you chose 5 years ago? Maybe look to a sofa that is designed for easy swap of slip covers. This can be done to most sofas, and many people use a stylish cover right from the beginning and depending on your mood you can take it off and see your “brand new” sofa all the time and put the cover back on for another fresh new look. The covers protect your investment and let’s you make multiple uses out of the sofa.
