Green Furniture Tips on the Go

Green FurnitureIn case you didn’t know, Green is the new thing where people, the public, and corporations alike are joining together to make Earth a better place to live for us and for our descendants and my company vouches to do what it can to continue to contribute to the Green Furniture efforts. And now you may think to yourself, “Ok, I want to do my part, so what exactly is green furniture? or green products in general?”

Well, a simple answer would be to say that so as long as we all “consume” as consumers we will generate waste into the environment. But the true rule of thumb to sustain our human race and its material desires is to consume products that are made from sustainable and renewable sources of materials and energy to be environmentally consious.

In the case of furniture, you wouldn’t want to buy a product that was made from trees that were supplied from over harvested forests, which makes it non-sustainable. This means that given time the forest will be completely depleted and never given a chance to replenish itself with the wood that it needs to remain a forest and have minimal impact to the overall world environment. And in terms of energy and saving on wastes, many companies actually recycle old things into usable furniture, like bike furniture or stop light lenses used for lamps and lighting (you can search for these on google to find the multitude of offerings.)

So here is a quick tip on identifying Green Furniture materials where items are made of: cork, cotton rope wood, wicker, rattan, bamboo, and recycled parts (Fun things like stop light lenses, seat belts, bike tires, etc.)
