Here is a fun find. A company called Zoom Room create custom installed beds that appear magically from within a wall. This novelty is not for all rooms, but it sure looks pretty neat.
Zoom-Room explains:

Touch the wireless remote, and Zoom-Room’s premium latex mattress floats into the room. Supported by a German-designed and patented slatted frame, it simply glides down a vertical track hidden inside an elegant wood cabinet. Just 24” deep, Zoom-Room is undetectable, and unlike other wall beds, does not interfere with your flat screen TV, bookshelves – or whatever you have in front of it.”
It’s as easy as this: they build a compartment where your bed will be inside the wall. The construction of the bed is designed to fold into the wall, however when the bed is expanded horizontally it sustains itself without tipping.
The only drawback I see, is that you cannot chose just any mattress. The mattress needed will be similar to a futon mattress that is flexible enough to store in wall.
